On Sunday October 29, I was a guest of Chatelaine's first ever The Big Dish — an event celebrating the innovative, gutsy and creative women in the world of Canadian food. Between the dynamic keynote speakers, intriguing panel discussions, delicious food and awesome feminine energy, it's hard to say what I loved the most... it was all so so so good.
I learned so much from the lineup of chefs, activists, entrepreneurs, farmers and others excelling in their fields. So much of how we learn and grow comes from sharing our stories; to see the world through the eyes of another woman is not only how we become better humans, but also how we become better allies and conduits for change.
As someone who looks at women and food through the lens of mindfulness every day, it was important for me to ask questions about our relationship with food... to tie it all back to the way food teaches us what we need, tells us who we are and transforms the way we feel.
Thank you Chatelaine for creating this gathering of powerful women to remind us that we are all connected and that we truly are what we eat.
